Default Price check aisle 3 (2000 996 cab)

Hi all
My brother in law is eyeing this car.....
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ce=&cardist=68

Its been so long since I bought mine..I am out of touch on todays prices...I thought you all could help us decide if the "price is right"
I went to look at it myself today....
Its nice...but has 50,500 miles on a 2000 model. We were looking for less miles..
It does have alot of options; 18 in sport classics, hard top, wood shift/e brake, white gauges, litronics w/washers, windscreen,full/supple leather, heated seats,hi-fi sound pkg, in dash cd.
2 owners. Present owner is supposed to be sending copies of all service records. No RMS issues present.
Only needs one small ding pulled and a good buffing of the paint.
Of course would get PPI before getting real serious...
Price is $37,500 FIRM..(its been for sale for 3 months)
Thanks in advance folks!!!

You can get mine for this price.

Seriously, I bought my C2 Cab MY2000 in late 2005 with 27K miles for this price.

Car looks good, but the options don't upgrade the car too much. Color is good for resale but miles are rather high, so this should bring the price down. I'd think $30-33K is a fair price for the car.

RMS not changed yet doesn't say you don't need to change it later, someone could argue that the old model of the seal is still in the car.

I agree with hwk. 33k max. I have the same car, better optioned but not quite as good of shape. I had several wholesale appraisals over the last couple months. 25k to 28k was the best i heard. Market is a little (ok,maybe a lot) soft.

Wow - these prices are really dropping - I own nearly the exact same car with different wheels. I have 47k miles and 11 months left on CPO warranty. I am thinking about selling mine and was hoping for arond 35k. So, I guess that guy's price is a little high and I'm apparently going to get less for my car than I hoped if I sell it (based on other comments above).

Maybe the seller doesn't really want or need to sell it but is willing to unload it if someone shows up and gives him that price.

You can PM me and exchange personal emails if your brother in law wants to talk to me. I can also send you some photos.

What is she worth...Oh, Arctic over black full leather interior.

I was hoping for $50K? Am I crazy?

I agree with Dutchie's post above ^. I did a quick Autotrader search on a 2000 Cab with Manual tranny and found 80 cars listed nation wide. The highest priced car was $49,995, the lowest was $26,500, and the AVERAGE was $40,137. Most of the cars lister were in the 37.5k to 43.0k range. Realistically, your car MAY fetch $42,000 to $43,000, at best.

I don't really think that 37.5 is overpriced for the car if it checks out as flawless as it seems (except for the ding and buff). 35K sound like a fair number. But 30K, that is stupid low.

I just got done replacing the air flow meter, (right after the check engine light went on), air filter, plugs, fluids etc., and was thinking of putting mine up for sale, to get a new 987S.

It's a 2001 cab, with all the options mentioned on that 2000, (white gauges, technic and design packages, 18's). It has 18k miles, and I'm asking 44k.
