Default Is this a good deal on a '03 cab?

I have a "friend" at a dealer who offered me the following -

2003 C2 Cab
38,000 miles
Porsche certified warranty through April '09
6sp, PSM, windstop, 18" wheels, power and heated seats, bose high end sound, xenons, and a few other options
Seal Grey
$53,000 firm
I was really hoping to join the 996 club for under $50k, but if this is a great price, then I might consider stretching the budget.
Any thoughts?

You should be able to find this car for about 45K, especially with that kind of mileage.

I'm not sure about 45K but he doesn't sound like much of a "friend" at 53K!

I think between your goal of under 50K and yves suggestion of 45K lies a fairer price.....

2003 is certainly a good year

When I got my MY2000 Cab in late 2005, I had an offer on a MY2002 C2 Cab with 48k miles and lots of options incl. hardtop for $49K, so I consider above not to be a great deal.

FYI I paid $44.2k for my 02 C2 with many options and only 31k miles. I think $53k is not a great deal, Go on ebay and cars.com look at the market value of a car like that..
Good Luck

It's too bad SMR didn't bother to fill out a profile, listing his/her location, because location does affect pricing.

However, here in lovely NC the local stealer has an '03 cab with 15K miles and all the options that SMR's car has offerred at 59,950. It was 62K in August when I was shopping, so they cannot sell it (it's red/black). But for a dealer CPO '03 cab that price doesn't sound so out of line to me...

But then I overpaid for my '02 cab, so I don't want to see any ^%!^@$##$$^% comments about how he could get an '03 for less than I paid (even though mine has lower miles and is certainly in better shape and a nice color and more options...)

According to Black Book the above car is selling at the auction: clean 53,200 and 49,700 for average wholesale. Don't see any deduction for this level of mileage. The only addition is nav system which would add 400 - but is not listed on this car. For what it's worth.

Then why did the peanut say it was worth 45K?

Just goes to show you, you can't trust anything that you read on the Internet.

I do not believe you can get that car with warranty and options for 45k. I do, however, think that $53,000 is a little bit aggressive. But...if you love the car and you can afford it, buy it - you might save 3 or 4k looking for a better deal, but it might take you a while. If you don't "love it", be patient and you'll get a great 996 somewhere if your budget goes up to 50k.

The warranty is included in the $53k price. The car had been offered as high as $62k, but it's been sitting for almost 7 months. By the way, it also includes a hard top.

Just bought a 2003 C2 with 21K miles for $53k from one of the local Porsche dealers in Dallas. It was Porsche Certified, new tires, full service, 18" wheels, PSM, full Bose, heated seats, side flares, full supple leather, aluminum interior package. And it was the color (black/gray) color that I wanted, and it had a single owner. I had searched the US for the last 5 months looking for a 2003 with this color combo and options. I found numerous "posers" on eBay and Auto Trader; I examined and drove several, but each had some fatal flaw or something questionable. So IMHO you did well and git a fair deal for your car.
