The Boxster book will be easy to write after you finish the 996 book. It would even be appropriate to use the same cover for both.

I think it all has to do with how long the aircooled engine and look of the body was around... 30+years vs. 8 years for the watercooled look... i'm sure in 10-15 years from now, we'll all think of the aircooled 911 as a "classic car" that is a great car for the weekend but not many will be commuting in them...

The 993 book was very easy to write after doing the 964 book by the way. A large amount of equipment and design from the 964 was directly transferred to the 993 with a few modifications here and there.
Oh I had to use the 928 manual as well for the rear end and the early Boxster manual for the later 993 interiors

If the 996 book is half as good as your 993 one, it should be terrific. I liked it so much I have 2 copies, one of which is always handy in the garage as a quick reference.
Just curious....but since the title "King of Porsche" has already been used for your 993 book, what would your 996 book be titled?
