If you're buying a car our of warranty, you're saving at least 50% off the purchase price of the car (usually 40-50 grand), and if you can't afford to run the car after that, then Porsche is not for you. If you have to have one, lease a new 997, or a BMW.
Having often owned older cars, I accept that repairing them is a cost of doing business - I own the car, I control the mechanic and the terms of the repair, and I'm not about do drop several thousand dollars to protect myself against the miniscule chance of engine failure. I'd rather spend the money on rims anyway....

yes, engine has porsche warranty for 2 years.
if paid by CPO, no addtional warranty.
