Hey, thats what they are called on my PET. I need help locating the horns on my 996. What panels do I need to remove to access and replace one of them. Anyone know if my CPO warranty covers it. I know there cheap but why pay if Porsche will!

may be covered I cant remeber, the bumper needs to come off to chnage them, unless you have reall small hands ( and no aero kit) you can reach trhough the square holes on the bottom nearest the pass side and reach them

The front bumper has to come off? That sucks donkey nuts...man....I am going to break the news to my installer tomorrow. Sucks.
EDIT - I am going to get these Italian models...cheaper than the hellas...I am going to ask my installer about teh job. I dont want him having to remove the bumper...sucks man.

I believe these are the horns being sold by Groits.
I have air horns, but a different brand.
My bumper cover needed to be replace by a body shop after I was hit. When the new cover was ready to go on I drove the car home for the weekend to figure out how to mount the air horns. After they were mounted I drove the car back.

I just bought the GRIOTS airhorns and spoke to my installer. He said we just need to jack the car up so he can reach under the bumper cover. No need to remove the bumper.
Once installed I can report back...maybe post a video or something...

AsianImage, trust Loren, the front bumper is easy to remove and reinstall. I can attest to that since I followed his instructions for my aero install. I don't see how your installer can reach in from under the bumper either. If he's planning on removing the bottom screws to make room, then he'll still need to pull down the bottom part of the bumper cover for some clearance. Why not just remove it cleanly to prevent accidental damage?

I don't know about other p-cars. Would like to see pictures of how this can be done on a 996. So take pictures of the install. The closest I can think of is pulling back the passenger side fender liner and doing it from that direction.
You ain't going to install air horns throught the opening at the bottom of the bumper cover.

996/boxter horns are easy though the bottom as long as
1 its not an aero kit car
2 it doesnt have a center radiator
3 its not a turbo/c4s
but yes i do have small hands, 997 horns on the other hand....... no chance in.......
