Default Heated rear screed on factory hardtop u/s

GUys,

just fitted the hardtop to my 996 C4 Cab today and the heated rear screen does not appear to be working.

Anybody know how it gets its power and what i should check.

The hardtop on my previous boxster had a plug in connector but no such tool on the 996.

Any ideas??

Gents,

i know i already started this thread, but does anyone know where i should start looking?

The light on the heated screen switch activates fine and goes off after appx 9mins, which is normal.

I just cannot see where the hard top rear screen gets its power from.

All help greatfully received.

The rear window on the hardtop gets its power from a circuit that surrounds the left mounting stud in the rear. Take a look at the hardtop when not mounted on the car and you will see the contacts. If they are undisturbed, take a look inside the fuse box to ensure that good power is uninterrupted there.

I believe that the defroster gets its power from the two posts used to mount the hard top at the rear of the car (the ones you lock down with the special tool). Perhaps you have a bad connection to the locks?
