Can I interest you in a more practical '04 C4S with 1800 miles? Just kidding - relax. Very nice cab, BTW.

Considering the way you take care of that car, I will gladly buy it off of you in a year or so. So, I vote that you keep your car, finish breaking it in, keep taking great care of it, and then you can unload it to me at FMV. What a great win/win!

1) You mention you hardly drive the car now. So. Why worry about replacing it with a newer one? Have you had many (any?) warranty issues?

2) you sell the car, then things get really tight financially and well, it will be quite awhile till you get another one. I panicked when i sold my 911 because with the bank account growing (due to the sale) my wife thought it time to put in another bathroom. Well. I knew I had to spend my proceeds quick before they disappeared

3) Your wife will have to console herself with driving a Minivan, the least you can do is keep the current 911 around so she can "get away" once in a while

No warranty issues, other than a sticky ignition that was also linked to battery drainage. Once that was fixed, everything has been very trouble free (knock on wood). I see myself getting a newer one in a couple years when I have two of three kids who can be in forward facing child seats. Also, I will be visiting the doctor to get my own wires cut after child number three arrives, so there will be no more exhaustion from having a newborn in the house. Once we're past the first nine months, life should get a little easier, the house will be done, and I'll be bored again.

Also, I've really enjoyed this car, but I do wish I would have gone a little newer for the minor amenities and extra power. If someone's budget only allows the low 40s, I think I have a great car to offer him/her.

BlackCab996, I hear ya on the exhaustion. I too have 3 small kiddies (oldest is a month shy of 5), the youngest just turned 10 months. My wife and I have been considering the "wire-cut" also for some time now (I chickened out before we had #3). However, everytime I go for a consult, I have 2nd thoughts -- not because I'd want more kids, but the potential side effects. I'd assume you'll be going the NSV route?

Anyway, life is starting to re-stabilize now that the baby is past the first 6 months. I don't think I drove my car more than 1,000 miles since her birth in February. So long as we don't need the money, I'd never sell mine other than for another 911. We already have a sedan and a minivan to cover all practical aspects. Plus, my wife understands and appreciates my passion for the 911, so she won't pester me even if the car just sits and collects dust. Not saying your wife doesn't understand, but just reflecting on how and where the 911 fits into my family situation.

Congratulations and best of luck on the sale.
