Default UPDATED!!! It is a GT3 wing...and now with pics! GT2 Wing on my 996 Cab?

What do you guys think about the GT2 style wing for a Cab?

I just spoke to the original owner of my 996 cab and he said that he has a GT2 wing that comes with the car and I just need to go pick it up. Apparently it needs a different deck lid since my current aero wing is fixed on my current deck lid. He said it is a simple deck switch..all color matched and everything. A $3K wing that is mine for the taking..and I can switch back and forth from the current aero to a GT2 style.

So...what do you guys thinks looks better? Should I switch it out? I was thinking about going to pick it up this weekend and wasnt sure if I wanted to install it.

Anyone have pics of one? Would love and respect your opinions. TIA!~

here is a pic of the current AERO set up...should I switch it out for the GT2?

NO NO NO, DON'T DO IT!!!! Your car looks perfect with the wing that PAG made for that car. THe GT2 wing will look all wrong and really "weigh down" the rear of the car.

I agree with Dell (man, I HATE when that happens! ) you should keep the current wing.

A GT2 wing may look a bit odd and out of place on your cab imo. If you're really interested, I would just suggest meeting up and swapping on the spot to see how you like it in person. If you don't, swap back and be on your way.

I had been looking at an 01 cab with GT2 wing and I also posted pics to get other opinions. About 90% thought the wing was too much for the car. I ended up with the same wing you now have and love it. I wouldnt switch.

ok...the masses have spoken.

I am skeded to pick up the wing tomorrow. If it is easy to install I will do it and snap some pics. I like the OPTION...heck if I dont like it...and its really bad..I will sell and make some $$$.

Thank you all!!

No GT2 wing... it's the first step to becoming a ricer (if you don't have it on a GT2).

I like the look of a GT2 wing on a GT2 but on anything else it's a little too "Mad Tyte Drifter"...

So +2

Put me in the NO camp.
Your Cab is perfect just the way it is.
The Carrera wing is simply the best one on the market for the 996 Cab.
GT2 wing will not look "correct", and will not match the rest of the car.

Love the wheels, btw.

OK...so I go to pick up the wing. WOW is all I have to say. and not in a good way.

The wing apparently is a GT3 style wing..with Carbon Fiber. And simply NOT MY TASTE...and is no way shape or form going on my car. Soooo....take a look and give me some more info on the piece if you know anything about it.

I am for sure going to sell it....ebay this evening and locally on CL or Recycler or something. I really do not want to ship it. Fast and Furious watch out!
