Was using Arabelle ('01 Turbo) as a daily driver, but racked up 26,000 miles in 15 months of ownership....so I just bought a '97 30th Ann Camaro Z28 6 speed convertable to take some of the load off........while still terrorizing ricers

4 miles commute, daily drive the 996. Parking lot is much larger than # of cars, door dings not an issue. Can't afford house with more than 2 car garage, therefore have to daily drive Porsche. :-) I refuse to park cars, even beaters, on the driveway. Hot in the summer (110 here for a week not unheard of) and too wet in the winter... At the end of the day, the money is just as well spent on maintenance for the 911 ...

My 99C2 is my daily driver. I drive it several times a day, rain or shine. I park it in whatever spot is open, and don't get **** about avoiding dings and crap. It performs flawlessly and hasn't let me down ever, and it is about to turn 100,000miles.

If I wanted a garage queen/showoff car, I would have gotten a Ferrari or something. Porsches are made to be driven.

My P-Car is my daily commute (that's the whole point of owning one)

...and yes, I also endure a lot of shifting during the daily traffic jam.

I drive the 997S rain or shine. I keep kicking around picking up a Jeep or Toyota pickup for the snow but don't want the hassle of maintaining two vehicles.

My commute is a paltry 4 miles though.

The type of work I do doesnt let me drive my 02 C2 everyday I get a company vehicle that is 100% free + they pay for gas and insurance I have to drive sometimes more than 600 miles a week going to job sites.. I wouldn't put my 911 thought that.. but since friday at 6pm until Sunday at 9pm I enjoy my car, sometimes my Girlfriend has to hit me with a stick to get me out of it on Sundays

Daily commute is about 48 miles roundtrip. I'm currently leasing an '06 A4 Quattro for the task. First time I've leased a car. Audi seems to run reasonable lease deals starting Nov./Dec. to move some inventory. It's a solid car, but I'm really not a sedan person. The lease will be up next Dec. and I'm considering something like a GTI. I don't need four doors most of the time, but it's nice having something for the Lowes/Home Depot trips.

my daily driver is an 2005 Audi S4 6 spd, my weekend car is a 2002 911 C4S 6spd. My 996 could easily be a daily driver. I need the S4 for work and to carry my hockey equipment (won't fit in the porsche), otherwise I probably would use the porsche as a daily driver.

My 996 isn't a daily driver, although I do take it to work from time to time. As a consultant, it's not the wisest idea to let my client see that I have a Porsche. Therefore, my commuter is an '05 Acura TL. With Bluetooth, DVD audio system, power everything, decent sport flavor, low maintenance, and excellent reliability, it makes a great commuter. I'd like to think of it as a "wrong-wheel-drive" BMW.

Looking at buying a Wrangler, not for daily driver, for utility and bad weather. What do you guys think?
