Default Lip Scrape...ARGH!!!

Stupid me. Scraped the lower lip of my bumper while doing a k-turn. I freakin' HATE when that happens!

Pardon the foreigner, but what is a K-Turn? Is that like a 3-point turn?

Cheers

scraping the lip of the front bumper is inevitable. I try to avoid it too, especially after it has just been painted, but its a fact of life.............just live with it.

Roger that, Signal. That and people tapping my bumper when they park are why the front bumper gets repainted almost annually.

I just stopped worrying about it, and decided to live with it. Between living in LA and going to the track, my front bumper will never look good for more than a week.

I wish that is all that happened to mine. I decided to curb grind mine to avoid parking next to a POS about a week ago. As it lifted the front of the car up, I decided to make a genius move and stop and back up, tearing the bumper from the fender well. Did this in front of two students at school, they actually stopped to watch me make a fool of myself, pretty embarassing.

I have to park at the LOWEST level in our garage at work...P5!

So...I am used to scraping my damn lip...like maybe every other week now. I was every other day for a while...but so far this week and last I have NOT scraped it. But I am sure since I posted this I will probably scrape it tomorrow going in and out of the garage levels. SUCKS!

But gotta love my Aero kit...so I guess its worth it!

I scraped(noticeably) the front bumper on my 2000 C2 about a month ago and I am just now getting over it. I hope your trauma doesn't last this long. Previous to this the bumper cover was immaculate, now every time I look at the front of the car my eyes are drawn to the scrape. As soon as I have the time I am going to do a touch-up job on it.

The lip on my 4S was scraped when the car was delivered to my home. It was replaced by the dealer - part is not expensive - something like $160. Now, I'm just really careful to angle the car slowly up and down inclines.

I'm in the same boat as most of you here... Always try to avoid scraping the front lip but can't never avoid it for some reason. Now I just stop worrying about it as well.
Cheers,

My car is pretty low and I haven't had much of a problem with scraping. Do you guys approach the "problem area" at an angle? Usually an angle and one wheel at a time clears it.

Mine came with scrapes, but I've added one of my own. It happens to me descending from a parking lot onto the street. 996s have a lot of front overhang compared to what I'm used to, but I think there are some lots in this town where it's all but unavoidable. Especially if you have your 250 pound business partner in the passenger seat.

For the first and last time.
