Default Question about my Option Codes

Hi Guys,

This forum really is an excellent source of information. I just learned that I can lookup my Option Codes at http://www.kindel.com/Porsche/options.asp

I managed to get the following list of items:

Code Option Description
- 139 (Seat Heating - Left)
- 288 (Headlight washer)
- 288 (996: Light washers)
- 340 (Seat heating - Right)
- 375 (Clutch lining without asbestos)
- 375 (996: Color coded seat backs)
- 413 (18" Turbo look wheels)
- 424 (Automatic heating control)
- 446 (Parts for type "Targa" belonging to stipulated assembly)
- 446 (996: Colored Wheel Crests)
- 476 (996: Traction control)
- 476 (Brake pad with abrasive pad)
- 601 (Litronic Headlights)
- 680 (Digital Sound)
- 692 (Remote CD changer (6-disc))
- C02 (Equipped with catalytic converter)
- 09991 (manufacture from the exclusive-programme)

My P-Car is an '02 Carrera Coupe, however there are 2 items that aren't very clear. They are:

- 446 (Parts for type "Targa" belonging to stipulated assembly)
- 09991 (manufacture from the exclusive-programme)

Do any of you know what these refer to?

Hi,

I've just looked through the list in a bit more detail, and realized that there are two '446' listed, and mine is obviously the colored crests. However, I also noticed that the lookup didn't list 3 of my option codes. They are:

226
376
696

Does anyone know what these options are?

Regards
Olaf

I found another description for option 446 to add to your collection.

446 - Parts for type "Targa" belonging to stipulated assembly
446 - Wheel Caps with coloured Porsche crest 18 inch wheels only
446 - Chrome Trim Carrera

I don't think 09991 is an option code. It appears on a lot of stickers and I "think" (just guessing here) it could be something like an "end of file" code printed on the sticker.

Do these make sense?

M376 SPORTSEAT, BACKREST SHELL, RIGHT
M696 CD-RADIO "PORSCHE CDR 220"

I can't find a 226 anywhere.

The 696 is exactly right, I have the OEM Porsche CDR-220 cd-radio. I may have the sport seats (how does one tell/know?), in which case if 376 is the right side, perhaps 226 is the left side???

Additionally, I have the (aero kit?) side skirts (see attachment below). Does anyone else have these? And if yes, do you have a matching 226 or 376 option code?

Lastly, how do I know whether I have the suede headliner. My headliner looks/feels kind of like suede (perhaps it is fake sude or microsuede), so, what does the stock 02 996 Coupe headliner look/feel like, and how do I know whether I have this (sounds like a silly question, but I would have thought that I have an 'X' option code for suede, even though my roofliner looks like dark grey suede)

Your headliner is called Alcantra, and is standard.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the replies. I have now made a few interesting discoveries about my P-car (regarding what is standard, and what options do I have). The most recent is that I do indeed have the 'sport seats' as opposed to the regular seats (which is probably why they are so super comfy and 'body hugging' (which is great during tight turns)).

Anyhow, I am still chasing down a single option code (226), but I have a hunch. Here are my Option Codes again (now that I have deleted the inappropriate/incorrect ones):

Code Description
139 Seat Heating (Left)
226 (?)
288 Headlight washers
340 Seat heating (Right)
375 Sport Seat (Backrest Shell, Left)
376 Sport Seat (Backrest Shell, Right)
413 18" Turbo-look wheels
424 CD Compartment (CD Storage Compartment?)
446 Wheel caps with Colored Wheel Crests
476 Porsche Stability Management (PSM)
601 Litronic Headlights (Xenon)
680 Bose Premium Sound System
692 CD changer (6-disc)
696 CD-Radio 'Porsche CDR-220'
C02 Equipped with catalytic converter
09991 manufacture from the exclusive-programme

The following are the items on/in my p-car, which are not yet accounted for:
- Sculpted Side Skirt
- Black Interior Mats with 'Porsche' Lettering
- Clear Marker Lights (3rd party)
- Bumperplugs (3rd party)
- Color-coded Rear Bumperettes (3rd party???)

Therefore, I have some questions:

(01) Is it possible that 226 refers to my sculpted side skirts (see picture below)? How many of you have these skirts and the unidentified code 226?
(02) Were color-coded rear bumperettes ever standard on the '02 996's, or are mine custom painted? (eg: by www.bumperplugs.com)
(03) Is it possible that 226 refers to the Black Mats with Porsche Lettering? How many of you have these mats and code 226?

Apologies to all those who are tired of hearing about option codes, but I think I am super-close to figuring what my last elusive code refers to.

Thanks
Olaf
