Default Good Price for '01, 34k

Hi Gang,

Saw this car in person today:

'01, 34k, $44.8k

It is in very, very nice shape, looks brand new. This still seems expensive given the recent 996 price drops. Question is: what's a great deal and what's a good deal on this car?

It had the sport seats, that had electric seatback adjust, but manual fore/aft and up/down. I'm 6'4" and once I adjusted the seat all the way back and down, and the steering wheel full out, my knees had no issues clearing it. Does the manual adjust seat allow for more travel than full electric seats? I ask because I never remeber ever having as much space in any precious 996.

Thanks for you help!

I bought a 2001 Tip C2 Cab with 28k miles in mint condition 2 months ago for 41k. Full leather with power seats, colored crest center caps, 3 spoke wheel, upgraded sound system and the 30k mile service already done.

If you're going to spend that much money, spend a couple grand more and get a 2002 with the newer engine.

Well,.. I'm keeping an eye out for car values out there. I went the local BMW dealer and checked out the 335i. Right after that I cruzed over to a local independent dealer to see this 996. Essentially, the 335i coupe reasonably optioned can be had for the same money as an '01, '02 996. I'm in the SF Bay Area, where car European car prices seem to be permanently inflated.

What is a nationally fair price for the 996 in this ad???

For an '01 C2, agree - their asking price of $44 plus is much too high.
