Default Car Sprayed Gas

Like the title says, my 996 sprayed gas at me tonight. I was trying to refuel because the computer said 20 miles till empty, and after dispensing .2 gallons the car sprayed fuel from the gas tank. I thought I did something wrong so I tried again and got sprayed a second time. Surely it must have been the pump right? So I tried another gas station and what happened? It fockin' srpayed gas at me again. WTF?

possibly something broken with the gas line? you may need a dealer visit. try pouring gas using a can if you are worried you won't have enough range to the dealer.

I havent taken the filler neck apart on a 996, and it's been a while since i've taken the fuel tank out so I dont remember if you can, but on the later BMW's there is a flap to prevent fuel from splashing back up the neck. I wonder if that could be stuck and causing a problem. Just an idea.

There is a small valve on the filler inlet to allow air out of the tank as you fill. You might need to get a new one. It is located under the fender tough to get to but can be done. Dealer runs about 250 for part and install.
