Default Wheel hop

Just wondering if all 996 C4's have his problem?

It seems that with PSM off, wet or dry that if I get the tires to spin the rear of the car starts to hop.

It's so bad that I have to lift off the gas

Turbos have the same problem. Its the stiff suspension and the fact that you have the engine weight over the rear wheels. The car has lot of grip. Don't let it hop, ease off the gas your not going to get anywhere any faster by having the rears wheels spin.

I wonder if it's the 4 wheel drive setup?

Only other 4 wheel drive car that I had, did the same things was Mish 3000GT VR4.

Hopping can kill your half shafts (usually only in dry conditions though, when hopping with grip), so don't just drive through it, let off. Stiffer springs should actually aid in the reduction of hop in most applications...

Compliance in the bushings, joints, and other suspension points often one of the causes for wheel hop. Also, worn tires might increase hop.
