Hello all. As the title suggests, I have gotten a faint coolant smell from the vents on my '99 C4 twice over the last few weeks (daily driver). It is only for a second and only on start-up in the morning. The coolant level appears to be fine and the tank was replaced roughly two years ago.

Any thoughts?

Check the heater core. May have a small leak.

check for coolant draining on to the carpet or under the car

Thanks for the advice. I will take a look on the carpet as well as under the car. Can somebody tell me where the heater core is on these cars?
