.. At my first track day the organiser said dont use the emergency brake after a session as it will overheat and warp the rotors.
.... then after my first session my real instructor (who drove a 996 turbo) said " Of course the brake stuff doesnt apply to Porsche's."
Do we really have a drum brake for the emergency brake ?
I second Simon. According to "The Porsche 911 Story" by Paul Frere, the hand brake actuates a separate braking mechanism on the rear wheel. I haven't heard him to be wrong on anything yet.
