Default Swizzle Stick

Why, oh Why, does Porsche have some design reject from a 1960's Swizzle Stick manufacturer on the end of their 996 dip-stick? Is this a Herr Dr. Ingeneur F. A. Porsche thing? If so, was he in a bad mood or high on drugs? I mean WTF? I'm feeling like a fool trying to read the oil level, and *yes* I've read the effing owners manual... Come on guys, gimme something that's easy to understand because I'm a person of very limited intellegence and I ain't got room in my gourd to remember a bunch of trivia. Low - Full (Niedrik - Voll) will do very nicely, thank you!
