ok, after reading all the oil pan threads, i noticed something in the pictures.
From the BK site, pictures apparently show that the stock oil pan has a plastic baffle that helps to keep oil from sloshing around. the question - when was this part made stock? cause if my 99 didn't have it, that'll explain why my oil pressure drops in the turns. ok, thats cool. but then i look at the x51 oil pan baffle, and it looks basically the same as the stock part, except made of aluminum. so does it really work better? or even make that much of a difference? i think the more enlightening fact is that the x51 baffle is really an improvement on the stock piece, and not a totally new part that did not previously exist.
I can't comment on the difference. FWIW though, I did notice a visual differences from the pics. The X51 version has "walls" on just the left and right side , and stock has fours walls, albeit front and rear are shorter. The side walls on the X51 also appear to be "notched" slightly differently compared to stock.
right - i mean obviously there are design differences. i think the biggest misconception is that the OEM oil pan *doesn't come with any stock baffling*, correct?
i am also curious to know how the x51 pan is supposed to work better than stock. perhaps people with the BK oil pan mod or x51 mod can chime in
oh no, i'm not being sarcastic. sorry, didn't mean to sound that way. what i meant was that i'm a little confused as to what seem like minor differences between the two designs make the difference between oil starvation and proper oil scavenging

the OME pan as shown above is what came on my 06 cayman S.
i was surpsiced to see it had some baffling.
i also have the x51 in my office.
now i am not sure which to install!?!?!
No worries... I didn't take it the wrong way and in hindsight I was pretty much stating the obvious. I wish I knew the anwer too, and look forward the the outcome.
