I'm sure I can get a DJ friend of mine to mix you up a couple exhaust tones.

This is old news, although still cool. The local paper (Washington Post) ran a big story on it months ago.

A couple of things that worry me about it: the price keeps going up (it was $80K a while back), and it runs on something like 4,000 cell phone batteries. (I may be off on the exact number, it's been a while since I researched it) Given the recent problems with laptop batteries, I'm not sure that the Tesla batteries are ready for prime time.

On the other hand, it would be cooler than heck to have one, and I hope they do well and actually get these into production. I'll be looking for one at the track.

P.S. There's a whole lot more info on the company web site. I haven't been there in a while, but I think it's teslamotors.com.

I went to the Tesla web site to have another look around, and found this under the FAQ section:

Purchasing Questions

Can I trade in my Porsche?

Pretty funny! (The answer was 'no', by the way)
