Default EVO intake in the rain?

I was unfortunitely caught in the rain yesterday and was wondering if rain can build up in the EVO intake box and eventually get into the filter.

If you look carefully at the louvers on the 996 wing, only the section near the snorkel has a chance to allow water in. Also, there is a drain hole on the box.

I did notice the snorkel area would be where the water entered from but didn't know if it was possible for rain to start building from there and end up where the filter is.

The Porsche tech mentioned that rain would get into the filter eventually if there wasn't a drain...I never saw the box before install so I wasnt sure if there was such a hole. I'd assume the ppl at EVO did put one in though...can anyone confirm?

Just pop the air filter off and have a look.....But if there's no hole, then you could always put one there....though, it might allow for non-cold air to come into the engine (I'm kidding here).

I have the K&N intake on my car and I have no issues with water getting in the air filter from rain or car washes, so I would figure the same with the EVO. The louvers are designed to chanel water away to the sides of the lid to drain properly. It is possible to get some water in the inlet duct, but with the filter raised it should not be an issue since any water would drain down.
