The Maserati looks boring as all hell. The Aston is nice looking, but horribly unreliable (so is the Maserati). Both are not true driver's cars, more like GT cars.

Of course asking this on a Porsche board will only lead to one answer...

The aston is a great looking car, but I would doubt the reliability for a daily driver. If you want to get notice or like that exclusivity of something rarer no doubt the aston will get more attention. If it was for me I'd get a 550 Maranello. Its not as much of flashy car as the Modena and has the Ferrari heriatage with its 12 cyclinder and pinnafarina design.

PORSCHE -- the best of both worlds!! I drive mine everyday in L.A. Beverly Hills Ferrari's service center is located behind my office building. The parking lot looks like a new car showroom of Ferraris and Maseratis!! Rows and rows... I'd rather be driving my sportscar than waiting to pick it up....again...

Well, if I owned the Aston, I'd dress a lot better than I do. I'd wear a sport coat everywhere I went, and cologne is a must. I'd pay a small boy to follow me on his bicycle to clean the car at every stop, and to throw himself on the car if a bird threatened. I'd park it a mile from everyone, never let my wife drive it, or even ride in it - forget the kids - and I'd have my office building errect a car port just for me.

On second thought, I don't think my ulcer could take it... I better stick with the Porsche.

Porsches suck...they go and go and go and go...and sometimes you got to give them gas and and oil change...some new rubber and a lot of mods...and then the go and go and go........what's the fun in that?? It is much better to have a sportscar that everytime you (try to) fire it up....you hold you breath and hope for the best!!...NOT!!!

The other day I drove by a beautiful yellow Lambo Gallardo......yes I passed it...why?? It was parked in the gras on the 405.....and the driver didn't seem to be to happy about it.....but my energizer bunny (P-car) just went and went and went!! KNOCK ON WOOD!!!!!!

I have to agree I love the way the Aston Martin looks and love Ferrari's and Lambo's....but untill I am a mutli millionair ( and a multi mutli sportscar owner) I will stay true to German Grunlichkeit!!! and of course a kick *** legacy!!!

Porsche is my option , but hey what did you expect froma Porsche forum!
Ha! I think it's the Jag that looks like the Aston...
The new Jag has been slayed mercilessly in the UK press as being an Aston copy-cat...

Have you seen the New Jag, I swore it was an Aston when I saw it on the road last weekend.

Realize it is a Ford plan, copy the Austin styling legally while you own the company then sell it and make it your own. Maybe Ford will make a come back after all.

I personally love the design of the aston and the gallardo, but i'm not keen on servicing and the fact the closest dealer is in ATL

I agree with another poster, I would need to be a multimillionaire to jsutify the purchase

Given my experience with British Vehicule, 2 Range rover and a Disco I would stay away from them unless you live next door to the dealer.I must admitt that my wife RR Limited Edition is stunning but the electrical problems are way too much for me. Shocking how a vehicule that's more than 100K (ok CAD$ play money but...) has a radio that doesn't work on most days. Suspension starts going up and down at red lights....DEUTSCHELAND UBER ALLES, UBER ALLES IN DER WELT...

IMO, the new Jag XK shares very minimal similarities with Aston Martin appearance-wise. New XK front looks like a Taurus. The rear looks ok, I guess.

The older XK looks a lot better. When the XK was first introduced in 97, I didn't like the design for the first few years, then one day, I started to appreciate the shape. Maybe it will be the same for the new XK. But the front looks too much like a Taurus or one of those low-end Fords.

Who cares if Jag copies the more expensive Aston Martin? Almost everyone knows Jag XK is the inexpensive substitute for Astons anyway.

Jaguar XK or BMW M6?

I'm joining in a little late in this conversation, but in my opinion there are few cars that are more iconic than a 911. I've had so many people come up to me and talk to me about the car, congratulating me, or asking if it's my dad's
in my eyes the p car has a rather exotic feel while still being functional as a daily driver. It has the distictive look of a race bred car while retaining mechanical durability of a german engineered car. if i were going to look into another sports car i'd highly consider next years Z4 M Copue. with a 400hp 8 cylinder engine in a rather small car.

yum.
