Default Alignment Question

I just installed the ROW kit on my 996 and it is going in tomorrow for an alignment. I was wondering if it is necessery to add weight(equal to my body weight) to the drivers side of the car while they adjust the alignment? TIA.

The weight considerations are only done when corner balancing...not just regular alignment.

There isn't anything that having you in the car will adjust. You don't have adjustable spring perches or adjustable sway bar end links. You'll be fine. Just have them bump the camber up if you want to get the most out of the new suspension.

NOTE: Wait 2-4 weeks before getting your alignment done. The car will settle a lot in the first 2 weeks. My rear only settled about 1/4" after a month, but my front settled 1" in 2 weeks with the same suspension.

I see that my front tires are wearing more on the inside than outside edges. On most cars that indicates a fairly serious miss-alignment . A local service writer sort of let it slip that that is pretty common but then said I should bring it in for a $200 alignment. Previous meticulous owner's records show an alignment 20k miles back. I have seen that few newer cars seldom are off and need aligning. Opinions? jVm
