Default Selling my 996 and HPDE stuff

The day has come and I'd like to sell my 1999 996 C4 in Arena Red with dark wood full kit and full leather with power and heat. Rear parking sensors, 6 way CD changer, 43k miles on chassis, 500 miles on new factory engine and 800 on new tiptronic. Engine needs 2k miles for breakin period (<4k rpms). Car has almost new Michelin PS/2s on car.

Engine, DME, and tip have a 2 year factory warranty from July/Aug 06 and there is a 3 year extended warranty remaining on the rest of the car. The engine is the 2001 model engine. The car has about 10 HPDE days, none on tip and engine. It has new frozen rotors and new stock pads or HP+ pads.

I'm looking for 37k firm given the warranty on the car, you get 3 years of trouble free driving with this, 3 with repairmaster and 2 with Porsche on the important bits.

I also have the following available for 5K. This kit basically is a full HPDE kit for the car and bolts in.

* DasSport Weekender 4pt bolt in Roll bar with higher harness bar.
* Simpson 2006 Polyester 6pt harnesses
* driver side GT3 seat in black leather
* Recaro Poleposition including BK mounts and manual 996 sliders passenger side
* Bell M2 Helmet and R3 H&N restraint.
* One set of 18" black turbo wheels

Also
Driver side Recaro Pole Position with BK 907x mounts on manual 996 sliders, 500

Also
One set of 17" tirerack wheels with 80% tread Bridgestone Blizzak LM22s 1k

I may be interested in some of the misc. parts, but it sounds like you're selling all as a "kit". Willing to sell separately?

Where are you located? I might be interested in Pole positions if you're in RI

Will you tell me more about a couple of items, and comment on your price and willingness to ship?

Turbo Wheels: Condition, hollow spoke, black color (sprayed, powdercoat, etc.), width & offset (to confirm C4S fitment)?

GT3 Seat: Condition, wear, etc?

I'd prefer to sell the M2 with the R3 as it has the D hooks for it.

The black wheels are for a 996 C4, they look powder coated and the black is pretty tough as far as I can tell. I don't know if wheels are the same between a C4 and C4s.

The GT3 seat has about 5 days of use so it's pretty much pristine.

Can you still see the lettering on both sides of valve stem? If so, could you post the info for both front and rear? Also, are you willng to ship the items?

Weekender bar is red. It has two bars on top, the one that it came with which is too low and another one I had added at a race shop. The new bar is 3 inches above the stock one and is made of 1.5" DOM steel and painted red to match the rest of it.

Why are you selling? What happened to the original engine?

I'm selling because I've had enough The tranny failed in Aug which was replaced by the dealer for 9.7k and it now has a 2 yr factory warranty and 3 weeks later my engine failed which cost 14k to replace at the dealer and now has the same 2 year factory warranty. If I hadn't had an extended warranty I reckon I'd be divorced now...

The engine failure was the wall cracking and broken rods, the tranny failure was a pump seal that failed. You couldn't even say I was abusing the engine given it's a tip. Just bad luck. The car is fully dealer serviced and has around 4 oil changes a year so I'm pretty sure this was just going to happen one way or the other.

If you want a 0% risk 99 996 then it won't get better than this other than buying a much newer and more expensive CPO car which wouldn't have a new engine and tranny.

So, as I said, the car basically has a new transmission and engine with factory warranty and the rest of the car is covered by the 3 remaining years on my repair master warranty.

b,

Sorry to hear that. I know from posts you've done some DEs. What car are you going to next?
Good luck,
Kevin

I have to disagree on the 0% risk

car sounds a tad snake bitten.

I am sorry to hear that, though, I had a boat that way once, it couldn't wait for me to fix something, so that something ELSE would fail !!
