Aaaah. Oreganet to the rescue. That explains it all. Little white lies on the ad, like claiming a GT3 kit rather than saying GT option, but nothing big, really. Except for the "racing exhaust" claim when all it is is stainless steel tips.

yeah, exactly... a little bit of embellishment. I don't trust anyone that embellishes like that.
... lower the price and it's a very nice car that was well optioned, hey, I'd like that $9K option on my car, but $9K on a C2 doesn't make a GT3.
I'm trying to find the same document for other model years, but haven't had any luck yet. It's pretty cool to see all of the model codes and options in one document.

Okay, I just found something else weird about this ad... I know, I'm a pain when I get my teeth into something....
"THIS RARE/UNIQUE COLLECTOR CONDITION PORSCHE 911 with GT3 KIT - ONLY SOLD IN EUROPE IN 2001."
The car was obviously sold in the US, as the window sticker has the standard EPA milage info on it, so why would they claim that it's a car only sold in the EU?
These guys either have taken embellishment to a new level, are clueless, or are not to be trusted because they're lying.

Just FYI...these are 1999 European model MK1 GT3's
The rear wings are similar to the aerokit's
Hmmm...I think the owner probably bought the aerokit from Europe, and so he calls it the GT3 kit!? Which in a way is correct, the invoice if it's from Europe, will likely state GT3 kit.

He also mentions the "GT3 Kit" wheels were 265's on the rear, where the mk1 GT3 wore 285's.
Regarding price... 4 months ago I picked up my 2003 C2 w/Aerokit II, H&R springs, Gemballa mufflers, Short Shift, and a few other minor mods with 15k miles and paid $56500. That was within the range of the last Excellence 996 market review(and about 6k under Kelley Blue Book, which I don't really consider too accurate for the Porsche market). Considering all of the improvements to the '02-'04 cars, and the fact that they still have some factory warranty left, you can certainly have a lot more car for the kind of money this guy is asking (as I believe I did).

May I suggest running the VIN thru PCA with their explanation. Personally, You can get alot of things "not offered" in the US for the right price thru the Exclusive division. If you like the car, make an offer, take the badge off and have fun. I like it. And I like it when someone else pays 10K for an option I get for a 2K premium. And buying from an uninformed buyer is sometimes an opportunity.
