Default Convertible down when moving

I can open and close my top when driving my 2003 911. Dealer said this can't be done unless the parking break is on or if you own a newer vehicle. Anyone else able to put top up/down when driving?

I have a 2003 C2 Cab and my car allows you to put the top down/up while in motion at speeds up to about 30 mph. I even have a business sized card from Porsche stuck in the sun visor that states you can do it. I think 2003 was the first year that this "feature" appeared.

2003+ cabs can have the "lid" operated at speeds less than 30. My stealer didn't know this either...real knowledgable group.

Default Manual says so, but unclear at what speed.

From page #140 in the 2003 manual:
"The convertible top may only be actuated during
driving on even surfaces and at wind
speeds of less than 50 mph (80 kmjh)."

However on page #141:
"the speed must be below 30 mph (50 km/h).
If this maximum speed is exceeded, the opening/
closing procedure of the convertible top
will be interrupted."

I haven't tested mine more than 20mph or so, but it's a great feature. Now for the RemoteTop option to use the key to open the top.

Pretty clear...it's 30mph. The wind speed info. is FYI...obviously you can have the top blown off with enough wind!

Didn't notice "wind" in the first statement. Put a great big sail in 30mph wind and it's amazing how powerful it is. I bet the kiteboarders "kites" are not much bigger than the cab top and they can get 20-30 ft in the air with less than 30mph winds.
