Yeah, take that as an early warning. Better to hunt the leak down now then to get stranded one fine day.
The coolant could probably be dripping slightly onto the exhaust pipes. Do you see any signs on your garage floor?

I had the same symptoms when my tank failed.
Faint smell all the time, no visible leakage on the floor. I did see evidence of coolant leakage in the area under the bottle once I got it out.
