Default Tiptroinc Slipping

I have a 99 996 and the tiptronic transmission is slipping when shifting from 3rd to 4th to 4th to 5th gears. The engine revs slightly just before it upshifts. Has anyone else had this problem? Thank you,
Steve

Default Tiptronic Slipping

Have you ever heard of a Tiptronic Slipping? Our local dealer has not and that scares me.

its very very rare, have the dealer check for faults, there should be faults for "gear ratio implauseable" if the trans is in fact slipping. Do the leds on the cluster flash when in gear ?
It may just need a top off ive replaced tips for leaking but only a few for slipping

My dash has not displayed any Fault LEDs. Can myself or the dealer check the levels without dropping the pan? I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow, do you have any other suggestions?

My tiptronic doesn't appear to be leaking and the LEDs advance like normal and do not flash. I have 53K miles, would it need to be serviced this soon?

like i said its pretty rae for a tip to slip especailly the older ones, and iver never seen one slip and not have a implauseable ratio fault. Have them check for faults but it doesnt sound like you will have any if the leds are acting normal.

Thank you for the help, I'll offer those suggestions to the dealer, and let you know what they say. Do you know what the normal charge is to replace a Tiptronic?

It's 9.7k USD to fix it if it's busted. I just did mine, front bearing failure.

Default Tiptronic Slipping

The Porsche dealer said they verified the slipping problem, but no errors were reported. The have to wait until tomorrow to wait for the transmission to cool down to check the fluid level. I asked him what was the next step if it was full, and he said "I don't know". Does anyone if there is any hope, could changing the fluid and filter help or hurt the situation? I'm disapointed the dealer doesn't know what to do. Any suggestions?

I had a problem with the rpm's going up and down when I had the car between 1800-2000 rpms. I thought it was an MAF problem but it was diagnosed that it was the transmission. They somehow checked the fluid and indicated that it was low but they didn't know how it got low. Anyway, the only way to add more fluid was to take off the pan. The changed the filter and added new fluid and the problem went away. They never did give a reason as to how the fluid was low. Let us know what they find out...

U DOTN HAVE TO TAKE OFF THE PAN PER SAY, YOU DO HAVE TO REMOVE THE STAINLESS PAN UNDER THE TRANS, REMOVE THE FILL PLUG AND FORCE FLUID INTO THE TRANMISSION AT AT A CERTIAN TEMPERATURE, IT IS A RATHER PITA ORDEAL EVEN AFTER HAVING DONE IT 100 TIMES.
AS FAR AS THE DEALER NOT KNOWING, I WOULDNT LOSE FAITH JUST YET, SOMETIMES A PROBLEM THAT RARE ISNT AN EASY DIAGNOSIS, AND THEY ARE HOPING TO NOT HAVE TO GO THERE AND THAT FILLING AND BLEEDING WILL CURE THE ISSUES.
