Default CUP HOLDERS THAT DON'T SLIDE RIGHT....HELP

I have a 2001 coupe with cup holders. These cup holdes are always sticky(they don't slide in and out properly). I have taken it to the dealer and they tried to fix it w\ no luck. Does anyone have any advice on how to free them up, so they slide nice and freely? I have tried every lubricant imaginable.

Thanks.

replace them is the best bet
without replacing them youll need to remove them clean them with soap and water all the dirt and grime then apply some thin grease optimol works best from the back on the gears and slides
ive seen this work before

Well at least you have cup holders '99 and '00 owners don't have that luxury Each time my wife bring a drink inside the car, I get very nervous... to the point that I decide to install one Ultimate-Cup holder on her side, just in case. They work quite nicely. Actually I took this one out of my E39, so now each car has one just for the wife.
Cheers,

Yes, there are two that take up one of the slots on top. I gave mine away when I had the 2001.

Yes......it is up on the top and the stereo is below that and the climate control is on the bottom by shifter. Never seen it before , but it is very handy. If it worked properly.

I moved the A/C unit up and purchased the storage bin to replace it. I hated the A/C controls being on the bottom the way they came from the factory.

The only otherpiecee I needed was the plastic shroud for the A/C unit as it was different from the lower bin. I think the entire project cost me $35, and I gave my cup holders to a Rennlister with the only stipulation that he become a member!
