Default Radio trouble after alternator/battery replacement

So I replaced my alternator and battery, and all seems well.

Everything works except the radio. Won't power on. Checked the fuse, but it is intact. Any thoughts on where to go next?

It doesn't give me the opportunity, it just won't power up.

That was it, thanks again. Now if I could get the damn code, my owners manual set has everything but. Gotta love used cars...

If you have to go to the dealer for the code, you will need the radio serial number. Assuming you don't wish to pull the radio yet again, here is the way to get that serial:

To display data on radio:
1. Radio “on”
2. Press “TP” until beeps
3. “Becker” will appear in display
4. Use right **** to scroll to serial number

It should be an alphabet character, then 7 numerals, as in:

X 1234567.

If you have a relationship with a mechanic at a dealer (so that he trusts you), you can give him the serial in a phone call, and he can retrieve the code in a minute or so.

Does anyone know if you can use a similar procedure with the PCM1 to get the serial number without having to remove the PCM unit?
