Default Sirius XM i Pod Aux In for CDR220

I can tell you I have been frustrated by the local dealer, the chain stores, everyone saying there is no way to provide an Aux In for the CDR220. Well, it all appears to be nonsense. I found through another thread here SW Stereo (do a google) which has the hack to provide RCA inputs that you can plug in anything with a line level output (iPod, sat rad, etc.). They were kind enough to also provide removal keys and programming guide so that the CDR220 knows what is going on. I will lose the changer operation, but with Sirius, who cares. I've stopped listening to CD's anyway at home, office, car and boat.

SW Stereo was also helpful on install tips. Give them a ring if you are looking for the hack, and it sounds like they can hack just about any Porsche OEM unit.

I also wanted to get a aux in for my Sirius. I stopped listening to CDs and the radio ever since I subscribed to sirius. Do you a direct link to the part I need?

TIA

If it was that easy, Denison would have had their unit to market years ago!

What am I missing here? What hack are you talking about? If you have a CDR220 then all you need to do is install the Becker Aux Kit (about $16) and get an RCA Y-adapter from Radioshack and you're all set. The CDR220 does not use the MOST bus -- no hacking required.

yes, just call becker radio and ask for the aux-in kit for the cdr-220. Make sure that you get a sheilded RCA y-adapter (it will say it on the packaging) or else you will get alternator whine over your radio.

You disconnected the changer right? Then utilized the Becker aux piece like is used in the ipod installs? The Becker part has instructions for changing the CDR head unit to to AUX, which should solve your probelm.

You and me both. No ipod or satellite (well sat is avail now as a retrofit) in these cars when others have had it for years is just amazing! I have a direct wired FM kit in my Cayenne and it is great and I have the Becker solution for pre-MOST cars that cost me a total of $24 (including shipping) and that is a great solution as well. Of course, both solutions I have no head unit control but rather I have to use the ipod itself but it is WAY better than nothing......or crappy wireless FM modulation.

You have to select AUX on the 220 once you install the aux jack.
