Air Bag Light now on after Sparco Seat Installation (how to fix?)
I recently installed Sparco Evo 2 seat in my 99' 996. I know that there is a sensor in the original seats to tell the computer that a person is in the seat and fire the airbag off in the event of an accident. Since I changed out the seats the air bag light is now on and how can I tell the computer to still make sure that the airbag fires off.
I installed 5-point harnesses and also the original buckle so the seat belt light and computer is ok.
Can I buy an original replacement switch and trick the computer?
What do I do?

Dealer. Only a PST2 can turn it off.
This could have been avoided with a simple search. When installing race seats you have to take a few precautions to keep it from happening.

Thank you for that information. Now if I have the airbag light reset at the dealership and I only have the seat belt plug installed, is that adequate for the system to function properly?

That is a question I am not sure I could give you an answer for. I have that setup for ONLY the track. After track weekends I pull out my GT3 seats and put back in my comfort seats. Hopefully somebody else can chime in with a definitive answer.
