I thought I would jump OFF the bandwagon.
I have a k40 and I like it because it is invisible: no wires, no boxes, just 3 lights. Front, rear and laser.

I had the laser diffuser mounted under the top of the middle vent and it doesn't kill the look of the nose as the bulky license plate holder does.

I've been pleased with the Passport I bought. I don't remember the model number, but it's their top of the line unit. You can search "passport" here as well. CHP seems to usually have their radar on constantly, whether driving or stationary, and I pick it up pretty early, whether they're ahead of me or behind me. The V1 is an awesome machine, but was a little more bulky than I preferred. I'm not looking to get flamed by V1 owners, as I know people love it, and I acknowledge its quality. But...I've been happy with my alternative choice.

Get an ID that shows you are a KENNEDY then you can drive your car off bridges with young woman in the passanger seat, crash while driving drunk, speed and even get accused of rape without fear of any legal problems.

Unfortunately, laser diffusers are illegal in California. I few months ago I bought a Bel Rx65 after getting my first ticket in many years. It is small, light, and has good range. Auto-mute feature is nice. I mounted it just left of the rearview mirror and put the remote display on the steering column. Works great.

The V1 is pretty bulky, so I also got the small remote which I mounted on top of the steering column. I love the arrows!

Very happy with my K40. I did have to replace the "brain" of the unit once though. There was a discounted "refurb" option and I did it myself.

Got the cordless Passport cuz in my cab I can remove it easily and store in the locked console. Don't have to worry about the bulky and ugly cord all the time. It has saved my azz 3 times now in a month of owning the Pcar! Gotta love it!

I've had no problems with my Beltronics RX65. Nice detector.
