At least a few were reporting CELs after install. Any word on the cause?

CEL are from people installing the MAF backwards. Put it in right and you will never have a problem!

Sound is great and HP is a huge proven increase.

Dan, do I need to reflash the ECU to extract the HP gain? Also, will it improve the sound of stock exhaust?

Dan - Not exactly true on the CEL light...both my brother and I put in the intake....MAF pointed correctly....I haven't gotten a CEL...my brother has....both 01 996s.....

I don't think its effecting the performance in anyway (at least the butt dyno) on this car, but the CEL light is on with the MAF pointed the right way.....

Product does not void warranty. See this -
http://www.semasan.com/main/main.aspx?id=60128

I have Fabspeed intakes for the GT3. Give me a email for details.

You do not have to flash the ECU for the HP gain, however we do the Upsolute ECU reflash which is $700 and will gain about 12-15HP more for you. Sound is great!

Call me with questions.

In my past experience with other cars, it will probably be louder or should I say more noticable with a stock exhaust since you will not have the exhaust noise. Just my 2 cents...

If you have an engine related problem that you are hoping to have covered under warranty you will have to reinstall the original intake BEFORE you bring the car in to be serviced at your Porsche dealer. The service advisors have some leeway but anything requiring a DSM sign off (FYI. PCNA just/is hired a new one for southern California) will result in a voided warranty.

In addition to the backwards MAF installs the other issue is contamination from the oiled filter resulting in voltage drift and eventual failure of the MAF sensor.

Have your brother stop by Autozone and read out the fault code. Most CEL faults will result in reduced performance especially those caused by a primary load sensor (MAF) failure.

Dan

Can you supply one of these intakes to me in the UK? Neither K&N Europe nor K&N UK list the part.

Hope you can help

Ian W
