Why get a new engine if there is nothing wrong? Run it till it blows...THEN get a new engine...

Chances are it wont blow

Have to agrre with Gator. These motors can run forever if taken care of. Don't be surprised if you get 200K and still have it pulling strong!

I agree with Gator and LVDell... 100K is not a lot of miles... I think the car will run to 200K Easy...

Depending on condition, I think your idea of the value is low. I have never seen a 996 go for $20K. Even w/ 100k miles, I would bet it could bring between $25k and $30K. Again, depending on overall condition.

I say keep it and mod it.

yeah i wasn't planning on switching the motor out just yet ill give it sometime. i drive my car hard as hell and it still pulls likeit used to. and im definitly getting a supercharger but only after i get the new engine, and other mods like aero kit and new suspension set up. one quick question where is the best place to go get alignment done on the suspension. motorwerks in barrington told me $295 bucks which seem a bit high.

Why not the dealer? Not sure where you're located, here in DC, both dealers only charge $149 for a 4 wheel alignment..

If I were in Chicago, I would call George at Eurosport (Bensenville).

Don't know the number but good people.
