Default Hate to do this BUT.....

For some reason the dogone search routine won't work for me...and I'm trying to find the part number for the expansion tank cap for a 99 996...mine is crusting around the cap and I'm smelling hot fluid. Apparently there's a way to check the number to see if you have the new or the old cap.... I apologize in advance for posting this subject that's been posted a hundred times before....but I keep getting an error message on the search attempts. If you could PM me then we don't bother the list. Chuck Jones

Chuck:

Try this thread. https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=39432

The gist of it is that if the part number ends in 00 replace it with part number that ends in 01 for the cap replacement.

However, some have noticed that sometimes the cap replacement doesn't fix the "soon to fail" resevoir tank issue.
