Default Buying a 996 with new rebuilt motor by Autostrauss

I am purchasing a 1999 996 C4 Cab..motor was rebuilt in December 05 by Autostrauss in Orange county california. has anyone had motor work done by them. they gave previous owner a 6 month warranty and it only has 2500 miles on rebuild. any feedback would be appreciated.

Pretty strange that a shop would take the time to rebuild an engine, when one can be had from Porsche for only $8K.

Seller tells me that he had a piston break and water came in a siezed engine. he was second owner and porsche would not warranty...they did give him $4k of his $10k total bill. he had sensors replaced also at this time.

You can rebuild a motor for less then that and use better parts...They probably didnt, but that is one reason
