Default Need to find a Baby Seat.....

I'm in the process of purchasing a 2002 C4S coupe. Need to buy a baby seat for my daughter. She is currently 22 months old, 28 lbs, and about 3 feet tall.

I did some searches and I know that a Britax seat will work.

Which Britax model? and where is the cheapest place to order it from?

thanks

Glenn

Do a quick search and you'll find the thread. I bought one and its great for my 3yr old, but your daughter may be too small. It doesn't have the 4 point harnesses, just uses the car's seatbelt and its marginal on my boy.

I just bought the Porsche seat. Expensive but fits perfect and gives the kids leg room. I know everyone bitches about the price, but how much is our kids lives worth??? I don't think any of the other seats fit right.

Did you mount the seat in the front or the back?
If back..do you have pics?

I have a 16 month old and am trying to figure the same out.

thanks,
Amir

I'll take some pix this weekend. I have it in the back. I would never put my kid in just a booser like the $55 Britax until 3 years old. The Porsche seat is good to 7 years old and gives superior head protection. Here are the specs from the Porsche Tequipment site: (You only need the deactivation kit if you are planning to put the child in the front of the car.)

Porsche Junior Seat LATCH

(1998-2004 911 w/deactivation device) part no. PNA 044 800 39

(2005 911 w/o de-activation device) part no. 955 044 800 39 1+ 2 20-55 lbs. Approx. 9 months-7 yrs

I bought the second one (955 044 800 39) for my 2000 996 and it fits in the back perfectly.

How much does the porsche seat cost? I'm putting it in the back seat, my wife rides in the front seat.

$467.00 on eBay. The best dealer price I could find was about $525.00

I could be wrong here, but I think the Porsche seat IS a Britax (re-badged). I bought the Britax Star Riser at the link referenced above for my daughter (7 years, 50 lbs, 43" tall) and it works perfectly in the back seat. We don't use the top part of the booster (detachable), but it looks solid to me.

Unintended consequence of making the 996 kid-friendly: Mommy can we take the Carrera to school today?

Is this what it looks like?

My biggest concern with this one is that, I think the big stuffed thing in front along the belt would drive my son nuts!

Right now in the Audi I use one I got at Babies R Us which has a basic 5 point harness.

thanks,
Amir

I bought two Britax Star Riser Boosters... one for the 4 year old and one for the 2 year old. The older daughter fits perfectly; for the younger one the booster is a little too big. Hence, won't use it for her until she is a little bigger (probably another 6 months or so). Have a couple of different Britax car seats (non boosters) and none of them fit on the back seat of the 911.

I did take out all the seat parts in the car... both back parts, and the bottom parts... gives a little more space.

Britax Roundabout.

My kid is 1 year old in this pic, but he's 20 months now and this still works fine.

Default 2 children in the BACK of a 2003 C2 Cab: CONFIRMED!!

I can confirm 2 children in the BACK of a 2003 C2 Cab. One is 23 lbs forward facing in a Britax Roundabout with the base removed, the other a 17lb infant REAR facing in a BabyTrend Latch-Loc. (NO room in the front seat for a passenger) Both of the Porsche seatbacks are removed, but the seat bottoms are not. I need to do some dremel work on the Britax to get it to fit below a slight overhang in the rear deck so I can remove the seat bottom for more driver room. (not relevant to non-cabs)

FYI: Britax is behind the driver seat and I am 5'6". For taller drivers you may have to squish a little. I expect after I remove the seat bottom I can get another 2-3 inches.

my installation looks exactly like that, except my daughter is 2 and is 3 feet tall (very tall for her age) Her legs are about twice as long, so I have to move the passenger seat all the way up and then my wife can't sit in the car.
