Default Where did my digital speedometer go?

Woke up this morning and when I lit off the car there was no digital speedo or thermometer Anyone had experience with this?

All other digital/analog guages are working fine.

Appreciate the help.

I don't know if you know this, but you can change the settings to make different information appear and disappear in the display below the tach or even shut the display off (see manual). That could explain the thermometer. Off the top of my head, I didn't think the digital speedometer could be shut off but I haven't played around with this much.

Mike,

Look at the display closely. These are LCD's and need backlight. Sometimes the backlights go out, or the connections come a little loose. You might be able to see the numbers if you look close enough.

Mine did this (on the odometer) and I just tapped on the location (pretty hard) with my fingers, and it came back on. (My problem was random as well, it just stopped working overnight).

If the bulb is dead, replacement is in order.

You do realize that there's an analog speedometer, right?

Is that what the guage is all the way over to the left?

Turns out the digital speedo is still working, but the backlighting is out.

Maybe a few good taps will turn it back on... Otherwise, a new bulb it is.

Hey, let's revive a thread from 3 years ago because I had this issue today and I used the search tool.
What's that acronym....DAFS, ha.

Hip hip hooray, maybe I only need a new bulb.

Funny how I rely on the digital speedo to remind me how much over the speed limit I'm driving at any give time, ha.

Anyone else have their bulb go out?
Is it possible to replace without taking the dash apart?

What is this "analog speedometer" you speak of?

There are times when I actually forget it's there.

this happened on my odometer a few weeks back. it came back the next day and seemed fine since then. it was still working, but the light was out. i chalk it up to the usual phantom electrical problems and keep on driving.

Dave, there are a few of us here on Rennlist whose bulb has been burned out for quite some time now. Present company included!

Ha, good one Tim.

My first thought was it must a $1,000 German computer module to control Geschwindigkeit digital conversion computational analysis, never really occurred to me that it could just be a bulb, ha.

Maybe I should get 2 new bulbs, one for the car.....
