Default Feedback on Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position

Need new tires on my 99 c4. Was planning to buy the SO-3s but found out they are discontinued the replacements are Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position.

Any ideas if they are any good?

I replaced the OEM contisports with them. Far superior in performance on the road and track.

I just put on a pair of the Bridgstone RE750 and I love them. The treadware is an astounding 340 and they have excellence grip in wet weather. I have a C4 and they feel great on the car.

What scares me about thoes tires are its low tread wear rating. On a 911 they wear out 220 rating tire fast enough, I can imagine how fast the 140 or 160 will be.

Thank you for the input, the guys at Tirerack assured me that I will be happy with them on my c4. So got some on order, hopefully I can make a review contribution on the tirerack's site, as currently they only have one review.

I will watch the tire wear and see how many miles I get out of them. FWIW with SO-2 N1s on my 993 I am getting about 15,000 on the rear with side to side flip rotation at 7000 miles. Seems to last forever in the front.

A word about tire wear ratings:

I was told this by a Tire Rack sales person when shopping for tires. You cannot compare treadwear ratings across manufacturers. A 300 from pirelli will not wear the same as a 300 from bridgestone.

They told me the samething, as I questioned about the tread wear rating.

Thanks
