Having been in Boxsters for 7 years, I noted that the speedometer always read 4-5% high (readout was 60 mph, actual speed was 57 mph). This was (effectively) standard on all Boxsters. New to the 996, should I expect the speedometer to be accurate or is it also 5% off? TIA.

Mine is about 1.5mph or less off from my portable GPS up to 173mph, which is the more accurate I don't know
Where did you take the car up to 173mph... I gotta go to that heavenly place!

A nice 3 lane HWY in MD some call it a Sportbiker's heaven. This morning was a perfect day since the trafic lights are set for rush hour and there's no one on the HwY due to the holiday.
