Looking back at old forum posts, quite a few people have tried the pedros ice wax solution to window rattles. I've got a rattle from the rear left of the car that i suspect is the window (i need to find a way to verify it without having anyone else drive the car (noone drives my car! ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Couple of quiestions though:
Has the icewax held up?
did it damage the car in any way?
if i go to the dealer, will they fix the rattle?
will they fix it for free (the car is under warranty)?
do i spray the icewax from the inside or the outside of the car?
how much of it should i use?
Thanks!

I had a squeaking new windshield and used pedros under the rubber seals around the windshield about 3 months ago. Really saturated it beyond what most people would do, but I have not had a squeak yet.....I used so much that it dripped down through the door cracks to the rocker panels, I washed it off and that was it, no more excess leaking out after the first car washand no more squeaks.....great stuff...

I must be a little confused. I'd think that the squeaking would be coming from the seal inside the car, so applying the wax on the outside shouldn't make a difference. Sorry about being all paranoid about it... don't want to mess anything up :/
So the exact steps is to pull the outside rubber window seal away a little and just squeeze the wax in between the rubber and the glass? the wax will somehow permeate the rubber and lubricate it to stop the squeaking (but the window seal will not be compromized)

Not Exactly......
The squeaking is caused by the felt side of the rubber seal rubbing on the painted frame of the windshield or the backlight. The glass is firmly bonded in place and is NOT moving. What happens is that the chassis flexes causing relative movement between the seal and the window frame. The movement of the seal against the frame is what you hear squeaking. I had the problem on my old 993, and the foam rope + Ice Wax did the trick.
