Post 2002 996 glovebox question?

Hi there and good day to all. I hope someone could answer this question. Its great that the 2002 model has the glovebox now but I was wondering would it be possible to install the glovebox in my '99 996. Looking from pics of it seems it can be done but not sure. I welcome any remarks before I call the porsche dealer. Thanks

Sorry, but from what I hear no - some routing of stuff within the dash was changed in the new design for the glovebox.

Thanks,

Mike

Darn thats what I thought. If only Porsche made a kit for the older models they may make a killing on it. That little thing underneath the steering wheel is just not enough. Thanks for your response and hope to hear from neone who can say otherwise. take care all.

I asked this same question to my dealer and had him look thru the parts catalog for over 30min trying to figure out if I can retro the glove box. It turns out that the whole dash has been redesigned and a glove box retro would require an entire dash! No thanks a glove box doesn't warrant that much hassle for me. Hope this helps...
