996 Orders delayed?

996 Orders delayed?
I got a call today from my dealer indicating that 02 996 orders are being delayed because of a shortage of the new 5-spoke lightweight carrera wheels. Does anyone have any information on this or how long the delays might be? My car was a November build. Thanks in advance

They haven't delayed the orders, there just simply throwing other wheels they have in stock on the cars (turbo's, rad's, etc).
They are having a supplier problem with the 18" Carrera wheels.
Hopefully your salesperson was mistaken.

My sales person did say that a solution was to use the turbo wheels instead, but I really prefer the new Carrera wheels instead because they are a new look that distinguishes the 02 from earlier models. What is the word on when the supplier problem will be resolved? Do you know if it is a underforecast of demand shortage or is it a quality problem?
