To wait or not to wait
I am in the process of ordering a new cab. I really want the 02 vs the 01 but feel that with the crappy economy I may be able to get a better deal if I wait a couple of months.
The cars really seem to be backing up at the local dealerships and their allocations may be adversely affected if they don't move some of the new and leftover 2001 cars. Most dealers do now offer a 3% discount, but in 97 I bought my 993 just above "Invoice" roughly 12k off sticker. I am hoping to get closer to a deal like this.
Most dealers seem to be fighting this, but at the Mannheim auction this month a truckload of 99 996 coupes were left unsold at $50k opening bids. These cars were going in the high 50s low 60s a month or 2 ago. I want the car, I just want to buy it right. I am not independently wealthy you know.
Has anyone had any other evidence of this. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
