Post Can't find reverse

My 2000 996 came with 12000 miles from previous owner, and while I have only driven it myself for several hundred miles, I am having diffuculty locating reverse. Sometimes I will get reverse gear on first try other times 3 or 4 attempts are needed. I realize the car is under warranty, but is there an inherent problem with shift linkage on this year 996?

Thanks, Joe C.

Reverse is a little tricky to get into on my 2000 C4 as well. If you do it slowly, ie you push to the left past the spring retention, wait for half a second, then push up into reverse, the car likes to be stubborn. However, if you do it in one smooth motion without any pauses, it works fine.

No problems whatsoever on my '99 C4. Since its under warranty, I'd bring it in for an adjustment.

Bring the car in while you have a warrenty. I have NEVER had a problem getting into reverse in my early build 99 C2
