Default Shifter Loose and Acting Weird Shifting

Only had this car 1 week (after a clean PPI) and now today the shifter is acting up. I have noticed that in 1st gear with slow accelleration the car "jumps" and then I have to back off. Figured this was normal or just driver error as I'm getting used to driving a 6spd again along with this clutch. However, today, I noticed the shifter is looser (has some play in it that it didn't have before) in both neutral and in gear. And now as I shift from gear to gear, it's not as smooth.

In looking back at the archives here, I hope it is just the shifter cables, but I couldn't find any definitive info here.

Please help before I call my shop!

The linkage at the shifter is plastic and is known to break. I thought it would just leave you stranded. You will have to pull the cosole to get a good look at it. I don't believe that you can see it all just by pulling the shifter boot. There is an aluminum linkage kit available from Suncoast. I hope that is all it is.

Yes, I am aware of that problem and I pray that that is all it is. But I have read that when it goes, you can't shift at all...I will pull the console tomorrow to check on it, if I even know what I am looking at / for. Thanks!

Do that and a B&M shifter and your driving will be a 100 times better. Also make sure to check your cable, it could have come loose...
