Does anyone know what this color looks like? What do you think sbout it?

I believe you are making reference to Vesuvio metallic which is dark blue with a hint of purple. A pretty color introduced with the '97 Carrera S.

Thanks for your response. I checked and it is Vesuvio Metallic - one piece of info says vesuvio grey metallic - the picture looks dark grey with a hint of purple.

It is a dark grey. It's beautiful! I was close to ordering Vesuvio for my 996 and ended up getting Slate Grey Metallic. The Vesuvio is really nice though, just the slightest hint of purple in a deep grey.

Call around to your local dealerships and ask if they have it. It's such a subjective thing, you should really see it for yourself.

I have a Vesuvio metallic 99 996 coupe for sale. Pix at www.funcarsonline.com. My best description is "metallic eggplant"--color changes depending on ambient lighting--from dark grapy, to a purpley grey--different than Violachromafair on Milleniums but similar--a great color IMHO and fairly scarce.
