So lets say you walk in a store or anywhere in public, people don't freak out to see a civilian with a firearm. When you wear a jacket, I assume you're able to hide it but what happens when your wear flipflops, shorts and a t-shirt?
Sorry to be so ignorant!!
Hence the name....."concealed" handgun permit.....the weapon is to be kept

i'm from texas, now in georgia (not a huge change, eh? ) and i'm loving the gun posts!
porsche-t: if i recall correctly, most public places prohibit concealed carry weapons (malls, stadiums, etc.) ie, the places where i'd MOST want to be carrying one. how much does a CHL impair you from getting around town?
I usually only carry when I'm in the P-car (low-life factor). If I have to go to a mall, I drive my wagon. Most places have signs that say "the illegal carrying of firearms (non-licensed) is prohibited". You are not allowed to carry at sporting events, race tracks, bars, restaurants that derive 51% of their income from liquor sales, church, polling places, county buildings and places where the business employer has postings for no firearms or weapons. Although the church regulation is out of line - When I feel the spirit I like to shout out "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition".

Why is it that people ASSUME you are a redneck if you live in Texas? If you go back a couple of posts, you will see that I lived in the same "redneck" state as you for 35 years, drive the same car and ride the same type of motorcycle. Hmmm....
