Post Wheel upgrade question.

I've found an '02 Targa with everthing I want on it - except it has the 10 spoke 17s which I don't like. Someone told me that with any of the factory ordered optional 18s, the suspension got tweaked for stiffness and roll sensitivity. If true, would I need to adjust anything if I want to buy some used factory 18s? Any spacers needed?

Thanks for any help. Should/could be a new owner and member soon.

I hadn't heard that. My understanding is that all '02s received a modest adjustment to the suspension, with the 18s simply being an option. Others may have different info.
BTW, I love my Targa ... great open air feeling and very handy rear hatch.

Wheel options are independent of suspension options although there could be a "package" that included both, but normally, they are separate. No problem upgrading. The 10-spoke 17s are not so common that you shouldn't have any problem selling those either.

A lot of the factory wheels are really expensive and you can get some really nice aftermarket ones for about the same price. Iforged, Work, Champion just to name a few. If you have your heart set on the factory ones then by all means order some. If not, look around you'll be able to find some you really want.

Have not heard that either. AFAIK, the suspension on the '02's do not depend on wheel size. Should be the same suspension, regardless of whether its's 17 0r 18. You should be able to just install used factory 18's. Good buys can be had on e-Bay, BTW. Just make sure you get the right wheels and offsets, as not all Porsche OEM wheels are transferable from one model to the next.
