Post Anyone have a wiring diagram for the stereo?

I will be putting in an aftermarket system asap and don't want to butcher the factory wires figuring it out. Also what speaker sizes have you guys gone with on replacements? I was thinking about going with Focals all around. 4" and the tweeters in the dash, 6 1/2 in the door, and 4" coax in the rear. Anyone else done anything similar?

Thanks,

Kerry

I have a similar setup in the front, except I used the JL speakers. A 6.5" will fit in the front door. They will not fit into the factory enclosure so you will need to fabricate a baffle of some sort. With a 3 way component system, just make sure you have enough power going to them.

I also did a 4" coaxial in the rear. Hindsite being 20/20... I would not do those again. I felt the need to have them for rear fill, but I do not hear them (just like stock ... )

Two eights fit nicely behind the rear seats in a custom box.

All of this is powered by a 5 channel JL Audio amp... sounds awesome. <img src="graemlins/bigok.gif" border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" />

Do you have anymore photos of the sub enclosure? I can't really tell how they have it mounted. I was considering 4 eights, do you think that the 2 are sufficient? I was also considering the 5 channel jl amp but wasn't sure if it had enough power. How do you have your components wired?

Thanks,

Kerry

The box is friction fit behind the rear seats. It is a similar design to the box that Car Audio Innovations (CA) does, except I had to pull the rear cartpet out. As my box is designed, you would have a tough time fitting two 10's in there yet alone four 8's. I think the two JL 8w0's are good enough for me, anything more would lead to rattles. If I NEEDED more I would swap them out for some JL 8w3's. I have seen some installs where they got two 10's in the back facing foreward. Really, the wallet would be the only thing holding you back. The nice thing about mine is that no holes are drilled and it could all be returned to stock.

The JL amp is a great piece of equipment. SPECIFICATIONS:
Rated Power:
Front Channels: 100W x 2 RMS @ 1.5 ohm-4 ohm (11V-14.5V).
Rear Channels: 25W x 2 RMS @ 1.5 ohm-4 ohm (11V-14.5V).
Subwoofer Channel: 250 W RMS @ 1.5 ohm-4 ohm (11V-14.5V)

I will never need another amp.

The amp is mounted flush in the boot. Everything is a 4ohm stereo load except for the subs which is a 4ohm mono (2 8ohm subs in parallel). The amp has all the crossover abilities that I need.
